Workshop
Learn how to bring more detail and painterly flow to your leaded stained glass without glass painting.
Description of Workshop:
This workshop will take the participant through the basics of creating lead lines of varying width, extensions and overlays to not just separate the glass colour fields but to add some interest to the lead line and give your stained glass design a more painterly flow.
We will also be inserting a lead wrapped glass elements into glass sheet.
Note that copper foil overlays can also be used in leaded panels.

Workshop level:
Should have prior knowledge on how to construct a lead glass panel.
Workshop Total Cost:
Glass Guild Members - $125
Non members (includes 2024-25 Guild Membership) - $170
Workshop is limited to 8 participants.
Registration form and the workshop cost is required for registration.
Your place is NOT confirmed until your registration form and fee is received.

Workshop Materials and tools:
- Pattern (12.5" x 15.5")
- lead came various sizes
- Sheet glass
- rasp shaver
Tools and equipment on hand:
- Masking tape
- steel wool
- grinder and drill tip
- lead came vise/stretcher
Each participant needs to bring:
- Wear old clothes
- PPE - safety glasses and close toed shoes.
- glass cutter
- running pliers
- grozier pliers
- lead nippers
- files: rasp & coarse file (Home Depot)
- soldering Iron with a #6 or #7 tip.
- solder: 60/40 & flux
- craft knife and/or lead knife
- lathkin or fid
- horseshoe nails & hammer
- fine tip felt pen
- leading up board - recommend 1/2" plywood board (minimum 15" x 20") With 90˚ wood batons to build the panel on during the workshop and to transport home.
Lunch - will be a potluck affair so please bring something to share as well as anything special you wish to drink. We have access to a stove at the hot shop if we need to heat things up.
