I have been working in kiln-formed glass since 2012. I was introduced to warm glass through Lee Brady’s glass fusion courses of the USCAD program. After the first class, I knew that I had found my artistic calling.

While inspiration for some of my designs stems from cultural symbols, I find myself being increasingly drawn to the organic and abstract. Exposure to classes by Nathan Sandberg at the Bullseye Glass Resource Center in Portland, Oregon and that city’s many art galleries has given me a glimpse into the endless possibilities that await in this new direction.

I recently made the transition from the classroom to producing work in my own kilns. While this step seemed at first intimidating, the encouragement and advice from my peers in the Guild has fostered confidence in my abilities. The community support I receive through the Guild will help propel me toward achieving my ambition of becoming a diligent and determined artist.
